The Process
From first contact
to your wedding day.
01
Get in Touch
Tell us your wedding date, venue, and a little about your dog. We’ll come back to you quickly to confirm whether your date is available.
We take on a limited number of weddings each year – so the sooner you reach out, the better.
02
Consultation
Once we’ve confirmed availability, we have a proper conversation about your day. We’ll cover your dog’s temperament and routine, the venue layout, the ceremony timeline, when you need the dog present and when they should go home, and any specific requests.
Nothing is left to assumption. Every wedding is different and we plan for yours specifically.
03
Your Wedding Day
We arrive ahead of time, collect your dog, and take it from there. You won’t need to think about them again until the day is done.
When the time is right – whether that’s after the ceremony, the photos, or the reception – your dog goes home safely.
On the Day
What to expect
when we’re there.
Arrival
We arrive at the venue ahead of the ceremony – allowing time to settle your dog, familiarise them with the surroundings, and have them calm and ready before guests arrive.
The Ceremony
We manage your dog throughout – keeping them calm, positioned correctly, and behaving beautifully. If they need a break, we step away quietly. If they’re loving it, we make sure they’re visible and part of the moment.
Photography
We work alongside your photographer to make sure your dog is included in the shots you want. We know how to position dogs for photos, keep them still when needed, and get the best out of them naturally.
The Reception
If your dog is staying for the reception we’ll keep them settled, socialised, and out of trouble. When it’s time for them to go home, we handle the transition smoothly so you don’t have to step away from your guests.
About Russ
Nearly a decade
of experience.
I’ve been working with dogs professionally for nearly nine years through PawPrints North East – handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments every single day. I’ve attended over 30 weddings across the UK, from intimate ceremonies to large country house events.
I’m fully insured with public liability and animal care cover, and I know how to read a dog – when they’re comfortable, when they need a moment, and how to get the best from them on a day that’s full of noise, new faces, and unfamiliar surroundings.

Common Questions
Things couples
often ask.
How far will you travel?
Anywhere in the UK. International weddings are available by arrangement – get in touch and we’ll discuss what’s involved.
Can you handle more than one dog?
Yes. Whether you have one dog or several, we’ll make it work. The number of dogs and any additional staffing is discussed during your consultation.
Are you insured?
Yes – fully insured with public liability and animal care cover. You can request details during your consultation.
What if my dog is nervous around crowds?
We discuss this in detail during the consultation. Some dogs do brilliantly in busy environments; others need a quieter role on the day. We’ll plan around your dog’s personality, not the other way around.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible. We take a limited number of weddings each year and popular dates fill quickly. Enquiring six to twelve months ahead gives you the best chance of securing your date.
What happens at the end of the day?
We return your dog home safely – or to wherever you’ve arranged for them to stay. This is agreed during the consultation so there are no surprises on the day.
Ready when you are.
We take on a small number of weddings each year. Every enquiry is considered carefully – if your date is available and the fit feels right, we’d love to be part of your day.
