PUPPY VISITS & DEVELOPMENT

The right start for your new puppy.

Structured drop-in visits that grow with your puppy — from early home visits right through to joining the main group walks when they’re ready.

Puppies need time. We give them that.

A new puppy can’t just join a group walk from day one. They need to build up gradually – their joints and bones aren’t ready for long walks, they’re not fully vaccinated, and they need time to build confidence and familiarity before they’re ready to socialise with a group of dogs they don’t know.

Our puppy visit service is designed to bridge that gap. We come to your home, spend time with your puppy, and gradually build up what we do together as they grow. The end goal is a confident, well-socialised dog who is ready to thrive in a group walk environment.

Puppy visits are delivered by the same trusted team that runs our group walks – so by the time your puppy is ready to join the main group, they already know and trust their walker.

How your puppy grows with us.

Every puppy progresses at their own pace. Here’s how the journey typically looks.

1

Early home visits

30-minute drop-in visits at home. Toilet breaks, fresh water, supervised play, and building familiarity with your walker. Short walks around the block once vaccinations are complete.

2

Building up walks

Walk time increases gradually following the five-minute-per-month rule – so a four-month-old puppy walks around twenty minutes. We work with your puppy’s development, not against it.

3

Joining the group

From around six to seven months, puppies can begin joining suitable group walks on a limited basis. They walk with compatible, calm dogs and come home when they’ve had enough – not when the group is done.

4

Full group walks

From around ten to twelve months, most dogs are ready for the full one-hour group adventure walk. By this point they know their walker, they know the routine, and they know what to expect. The transition is seamless.

Five minutes of exercise per month of age, twice a day.

This is the widely recommended guideline for puppy exercise. A three-month-old should walk around fifteen minutes, a six-month-old around thirty. We follow this strictly to protect your puppy’s developing joints.
